I’m your Mrs. USA Prime, Division 2, Britton Allen. I have been married for almost 11 years to my very best friend. Together we have a mischievous 4-year-old son and a very large goldendoodle.
Before I learned about Prime Pageants, I had been on a “forever journey” to find fulfillment and healing. I felt like I was always “this close” to feeling like whatever I was pursuing was a worthwhile endeavor. When I was in the absolute thick of my healing journey, I got a call from Kristen, the director of Prime Pageants explaining what the purpose of Prime was- self care and becoming the best version of yourself. It resonated with me in such a big way- I knew I HAD to try.
Throughout my time last year as Mrs. Ohio Prime, I pursued things that I thought I never would or even could. I decided to create an app for my life-coaching clients to keep track of their own healing journeys. I created my app from scratch, I did every last bit of beta-testing, and I even published it in the app store. I downloaded it EXCITEDLY to my phone and… I hated every single thing about it. I think a few years ago this would have absolutely broken my heart, but I truly feel like I have gained extra resiliency through Prime. It was definitely one of my main challenges this year, but now I know I’m up for any challenge. This year, I’m writing my app from scratch.
Aside from that, I began working with my local Celebrate Recovery group, which focuses on healing all of your “hurts, habits, and hang-ups.”
I also started learning how to fly actual airplanes. In the sky. This is something that was MAYBE on my ten-year plan, if ever. This is something I had always wanted to do. Through my journey to find myself, I also found the courage I needed to make it happen way sooner.
I hope to inspire other women to stop putting themselves last. If you’re reading this- It’s time to take care of yourself and reach the goals that every part of your soul wants to reach. It’s time for you to find that healing, fulfillment, and higher sense of self.
I know, without a doubt in my mind, that if you start focusing on becoming the best version of yourself, you will ultimately lift every single person around you.
