In this season of my life I am truly learning the meaning that you never walk alone. As I sit and reflect on the poem “Footprints,” I am reminded of the scripture in Deuteronomy 31:6–8:
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you.He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Sometimes I don’t feel strong or courageous. Life can be hard and confusing and it is in those moments that we have to ground ourselves again. I know that we all have goals we missed in the first and second quarters of the year. Don’t beat yourself up about that. Life happens and we must give ourselves grace. After 25 years of being gone from home with 17 years of that time being in Cincinnati, I have relocated back to my hometown of Elkton, KY. WHEW!! It truly has been and is a huge transition but one that I am approaching with grace and faith. I realize that finding myself again is a journey that takes time and courage. It’s about embracing who I am right now, letting go of what no longer serves me, and moving forward with a renewed sense of purpose and self-understanding.
Thank you for being on this journey with me. Thank you for taking your own journey. Face each day with gratitude and fortitude knowing you are equipped to face down any opposition in your way.
